According to a legend, Sensoji was built in 628 on the exact location where two brothers fished the golden statue of Kannon, the goddess of mercy, out of the Sumida river.
The temple was completed in 645. Actually it is the largest and oldest Buddhist temple in Tokyo. With millions of visitors every year it is an awesome experience for all visitors.
