If you’re going to be in Tokyo later this month and have even a tiny bit of nostalgia for arcade culture, this one looks worth adding to your itinerary. SEGA is celebrating its 65th anniversary with a limited-time pop-up event called “SEGA 65th THE LIMITED SHOP,” running from May 21st to May 28th at Miyashita Park in Shibuya.

The event is set to be much more than a standard merch shop. Sega is leaning into the crossover between gaming, fashion, and contemporary art, with the entire space designed as an immersive experience rather than a simple retail setup. Even travelers who aren’t huge gamers may enjoy it, especially if you like Japan’s creative pop culture scene.

One of the main highlights is the lineup of completely new, limited-edition items created specifically for the anniversary. Around 40 products will be available, including apparel and lifestyle goods inspired by Sega’s iconic game worlds, both old and new. There’ll also be artist collaboration pieces from creators across Japan and overseas, including Italian twin artists LUGOSIS&STRATO, Tokyo-based graphic artist SHINKNOWNSUKE, and typographic artist Shohei Ochiai. The event space itself will also feature collaborative artwork installations and custom design elements that blend game culture with fashion and modern art.

The pop-up will be held on the first floor of Miyashita Park from 11am to 9pm daily (until 6pm on the final day, May 28th). If you’ll already be exploring Shibuya, it could be a fun stop between shopping, cafés, and sightseeing nearby.

More details can be found on the official event site.
