Just 15 kilometers south of the city of Miyazaki on the main island of Kyushu in southern Japan, the Kaeda Valley is picturesquely nestled between the mountains Kumbachi and Soishiyama. The many hiking trails past lush vegetation and clear ponds lead to the summit of Mount Boroishi and are for everyone Well accessible season.
There are two particularly popular hiking trails, the first of which is mostly flat along the river and is therefore also suitable for beginners. It offers great views along rock formations and waterfalls and is also very popular with bird watchers. The second major hiking trail is suitable for experienced hikers and leads on challenging paths to the top of Boroishi, from where, on a clear day, you have an impressive view of the city of Miyazaki and the Pacific.
At the parking lot at the entrance of the valley you will find maps and information about the different routes, as well as campsites and barbecue facilities along the way.
