Yokohama Anpanman Children's Museum

Yokohama Anpanman Children's Museum

The Yokohama Anpanman Children's Museum is one of Japan's leading attractions for families with young children. Dedicated to Anpanman, the iconic character created by Takashi Yanase, the museum combines interactive play areas, live performances, themed dining and exclusive shopping in a purpose-built indoor facility. The attraction is divided into two main sections. The paid Museum floors feature hands-on exhibits where children can climb, explore, create crafts and meet Anpanman and his friends through regular stage shows and character appearances. Most activities are designed for toddlers and preschool-aged children, although older siblings can also enjoy many of the play areas. The ground-floor Shopping Mall is free to enter and offers a selection of themed stores, cafés and restaurants. Visitors can purchase exclusive Anpanman merchandise or stop by the popular bakery, where freshly baked character-shaped breads are available throughout the day. Even those without museum tickets can enjoy this area.Located in Yokohama's Minato Mirai district, the museum is around a 10-minute walk from Yokohama Station and is easily combined with nearby attractions such as K-Arena Yokohama, Pacifico Yokohama and the Cup Noodles Museum. As the museum is entirely indoors, it is also a popular choice on rainy days or during Japan's hot summer months.Advance ticket reservations are recommended, particularly on weekends, public holidays and during school vacation periods.

Yokohama Landmark Tower

Yokohama Landmark Tower

Yokohama Landmark Tower, located in the Minato Mirai district of Yokohama, is the second tallest building in Japan! This impressive 70-floor skyscraper, completed in 1993, stands 296.3 meters tall and is an unmistakable staple in the area’s skyline. The tower is visually intriguing with defined corner posts and a slightly flared base; the building is an engineering feat with a flexible structure that absorbs earthquake shocks. Amazingly, these earthquake building tactics are similar to the ones used to construct traditional Japanese multi-story pagodas. Yokohama Landmark Tower is a hub of memorable activities with destinations such as the Sky Garden Observatory, Yokohama Royal Park Hotel, and Yokohama Landmark Plaza.
