Yokohama's waterfront is getting a fresh glow this spring with a new nighttime experience at Yokohama Marine Tower. Running from April 2nd to June 28th, 2026, the "Night Sky Lighthouse Tour" invites visitors to see the city after dark in a more immersive way, combining panoramic views with interactive light art.

Timed to coincide with the Kanagawa Yokohama Destination Campaign, the event taps into Yokohama's reputation as one of Japan's standout night view spots. Inside the tower, creative studio NAKED Inc. brings its signature style, turning the observation deck into a glowing, participatory space rather than a simple lookout.

One of the highlights is the NAKED Distance Lantern®. Visitors carry a softly glowing lantern as they move through the tower, becoming part of the light display themselves. The shifting colors reflect across the space, adding a dreamlike feel to the city lights outside. It is simple, but surprisingly atmospheric, and makes the experience feel personal.

There is also the NAKED Flower Fortune Slip®, a twist on a classic Japanese omikuji. After drawing a fortune, you can either take home the attached flower or tie it at a special spot inside the tower, gradually building a shared installation with other visitors.

The event runs three times each evening (18:00 to 18:45, 19:15 to 20:00, and 20:30 to 21:15) with tickets priced at 2,000 JPY for adults and 1,500 JPY for children. Admission includes access to the observation deck, the lantern rental, and one fortune slip.

For travelers exploring Japan, this is an easy way to add something a little different to a Yokohama visit. It pairs well with a relaxed evening by the harbor and offers a chance to experience the city's nightscape in a more hands-on, memorable way.
