Nikon Imaging Japan will present THE GALLERY Special Exhibition: Takeshi Fukazawa Photography Exhibition "Cherry Blossoms" at Nikon Plaza Tokyo, offering visitors a chance to experience Japan's spring landscapes through the lens of a celebrated nature photographer.

The exhibition showcases works by Takeshi Fukazawa, who has spent years traveling across Japan photographing cherry blossoms in their natural environments. From the wide-open meadows of Hokkaido to the forested landscapes of Yakushima, Fukazawa's images highlight the remarkable strength and beauty of wild cherry blossoms, as well as the refined elegance of cultivated varieties shaped by generations of human care.

Rather than focusing solely on famous sakura spots, the exhibition emphasizes how cherry blossoms are deeply connected to the land in which they grow. Wild species blooming after the snow melts in northern regions sit alongside images of rare cultivated varieties, including blossoms known for their strong fragrance, distinctive petal shapes, or unusual coloring. With only ten wild cherry species native to Japan but hundreds of cultivated varieties developed over time, the exhibition reveals the depth and diversity behind one of the country's most iconic symbols.

Born in Saitama Prefecture, Fukazawa is a freelance photographer and Nikon College lecturer whose work centers on natural landscapes and life shaped by Japan's varied climate and geography. His cherry blossom photography invites viewers to slow down and see familiar spring scenery with fresh perspective.

The exhibition will run from March 3th to March 16th, 2026, with free admission during regular gallery hours. Please note the venue is closed on Sundays.
