Fushimi Inari Taisha at Night

A different atmosphere at this famous shrine in Kyoto

Fushimi Inari Taisha is the head shrine of Inari (the god of rice) in Kyoto. It is located right next to JR Inari Station, so it is very easily accessible. The climb to the top will take nearly 2 hours and people usually climb up during the day as it can get a bit spooky at night. If you want to take photos without people, climb further up, as people usually give up after climbing just a few stairs or when they reach the popular resting stop with views over Kyoto.

The red gates are all sponsored by different companies and going through them is free of charge.
